Test of Divisibility of Numbers
Divisible by 2 : If the last digit of the number is even.
Example : 242, 306, 488, 500.
Divisible by 3 : If the sum of the digit of a number is divisible by 3.
Example : 243 is divisible by 3, as 2 + 4 + 3 = 9, 9 is divisible by 3.
Divisible by 4 : If the last two digits of the number is divisible by 4.
Example : 1424 is divisible by 4, as 24 is divisible by 4.
Divisible by 5 : If the last digit of a number is either 5 or 0.
Example : 375, 3460 etc.
Divisible by 6 : If the number is divisible by both 2 and 3.
Example : 786 isdivisibleby 6, as it isdivisibleby both 2 and 3.
Divisible by 8 : If the last three digits of the number is divisible by 8.
Example : 48320 is divisible by 8 as 320 is divisible by 8.
Divisible by 9 : If the sum of the digits is divisible by 9.
Example : 4554 is divisible by 9, as 4 + 5 + 5 + 4 = 18, 18 is divisible by 9.
Divisible by 10 : If the unit digit of the number is 0.
Example : 540, 1860, 2370, etc.
Divisible by 11 : If the sum of digits at odd and even place are equal or differ by a number divisible by 11.
Example : 2865423 Here, sum of digits at odd places = 2 + 6 + 4 + 3 = 15 and
2865423 = sum of digits at even places = 8 + 5 + 2 = 15
Since, sum of digits at odd and even places are equal, therefore the number is divisible by 11.

Divisible by 12 : If the number is divisible by both 3 and 4.
Example : 48132 is divisible by 12, as it satisfies the condition of divisibility by 4 and 3.
