    The Government of Assam has introduced the SAMARTH Admission Portal to simplify the admission process for Under Graduate (UG) and Five-Year Integrated Masters Programmes in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the state, effective from the 2023-2024 academic session. This centralized platform covers admissions for Four-Year UG Courses and integrated programs in Government, Private, Provincialized, PDUAM, Government Model Colleges, and State Universities in Assam.  

About SAMARTH  : Launched in 2019 by the Ministry of Education under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT-III), "Samarth" is a cloud-based, fully managed ERP system designed for HEIs. It provides a digital framework to streamline planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and stakeholders.

Key Features  : The SAMARTH Portal allows students to apply to up to ten colleges of their choice, with admissions granted based on merit. This eliminates the need to visit multiple institutions for form submissions, saving time and money. The platform ensures a convenient, transparent, and efficient admission process

  To support economically disadvantaged students, the Assam Government offers a tuition fee waiver scheme for students enrolling in 1st Year H.S., B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com. courses. This scheme is integrated with the SAMARTH Portal, and eligible students must apply through the platform to avail of the benefit.  

    Starting from the 2023-2024 session, UG admissions in Assam are conducted exclusively through the SAMARTH Portal. Follow these steps to apply :  

• Visit the Important Web-Links section on the official portal.
• Click on the Online Application Form link.
• Register by entering basic details (ensure the name matches the Class X Board Marksheet).
• Fill in personal and educational information as prompted.
• Upload required documents in the specified formats and sizes.
• Submit the form to generate an acknowledgment receipt.
• Download and print the submitted form and receipt for reference.

Admission Process

• Step 1 : Register and complete your profile starting from 11th April 2025, 4:00 PM.
• Step 2 : After Class 12 results are announced, select preferred institutions and programs. (Step 1 remains open even after Step 2 begins.)

Documents Required for Upload  : Applicants must upload the following in the prescribed format and size

• Recent Passport Size Photograph
• Signature
• HSLC/Equivalent Registration Certificate, Admit Card, Marksheet, Pass Certificate
• HS/Equivalent Registration Certificate, Marksheet, Pass Certificate
• Bank Passbook
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Disability Certificate (if applicable)
• TGL or Ex-TGL Certificate (if applicable)
