Socialization (समाजीकरण)

    Socialization is a process by which society leads its members to behave in a socially acceptable manner. It is a life long process and continues throughout the life span (समाजीकरण एक ऐसी प्रक्रिया है जिसके द्वारा समाज अपने सदस्यों को सामाजिक रूप से स्वीकार्य तरीके से व्यवहार करने के लिए प्रेरित करता है। यह जीवन की एक लंबी प्रक्रिया है और यह पूरे जीवन काल तक निरंतर चलती रहती है)

Socialization Process (समाजीकरण की प्रक्रिया)

1. Upbringing (पालन पोषण)

• The influence of upbringing is very important in the socialization of a child. If a child is not brought up properly, he feels difficulties in adjusting with the society (बालक के समाजीकरण में पालन पोषण का प्रभाव बहुत महत्वपूर्ण होता है। अगर बच्चे का पालन-पोषण अच्छे तरीके से नहीं होता है, तो वह समाज के साथ समायोजन करने में कठिनाइयां महसूस करता है)

2. Help (सहयोग)

• A child becomes a part of society only with the help of society. As a child gets help from other people, he also starts giving his help to others (बच्चा समाज के सहयोग से ही समाज का हिस्सा बनता है। जैसे-जैसे बालक अन्य व्यक्तियों का सहयोग पाता है, वह दूसरे लोगों के साथ अपना सहयोग भी प्रदान करना आरंभ कर देता है)

3. Imitation (अनुकरण)

• Imitation means learning by imitating. The child learns by imitating the elders and becomes a part of the society (अनुकरण का अर्थ होता है नकल करके सीखना। बच्चा बड़ों की बातों का अनुकरण करके सीखता है और समाज का एक हिस्सा बन जाता है)

4. Rewards and Punishments (पुरस्कार एवं दंड)

• When a child behaves according to the ideals and beliefs of society, people praise him. On the contrary, he is punished for antisocial behaviour, so that he does not repeat such an act again (जब बालक समाज के आदर्शों और मान्यताओं के अनुसार व्यवहार करता है, तो लोग उसकी प्रशंसा करते हैं। इसके विपरीत, असामाजिक व्यवहार पर उसे दंड मिलता है, जिससे वह ऐसा कार्य दोबारा नहीं करता है)

1. Primary Agents (प्राथमिक एजेंट)

• Family (परिवार) : Family is the primary agent of socialization. Family members and relatives play an important role in the early socialization of a child (परिवार सामाजिकरण का प्राथमिक एजेंट है। परिवार के सदस्य और रिश्तेदार बच्चे के प्रारंभिक सामाजिकरण में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं)
• Friends and neighbors (दोस्त और पड़ोसी) : Friends and neighbors also play an important role in socialization in early life (प्रारंभिक जीवन में दोस्त और पड़ोसी भी समाजीकरण में अहम भूमिका निभाते हैं)

2. Secondary Agents (द्वितीयक एजेंट)

• School (विद्यालय) : In school the child learns to be dutiful and adjust (विद्यालय में बच्चा कर्तव्यनिष्ठा और समायोजन करना सीखता है)
• Teacher (अध्यापक) : Teachers play an important role in the social development of a child (अध्यापक बच्चे के सामाजिक विकास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देते हैं)
• Social Media and Peers (सोशल मीडिया और सहकर्मी) : These help in socialising in later years of life (ये जीवन के बाद के वर्षों में सामाजिकरण में मदद करते हैं)

• Family (परिवार) : The first unit of socialization is the family. The child first learns social norms and behavior from the family (सामाजिकरण की पहली इकाई होती है। बच्चा सबसे पहले परिवार से ही सामाजिक मानदंड और व्यवहार सीखता है)
• School (विद्यालय) : In school the child learns social skills, cooperation and commitment (विद्यालय में बच्चा सामाजिक कौशल, सहयोग और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा सीखता है)
• Teacher (अध्यापक) : Teachers play an important role in the social and moral development of children (अध्यापक बच्चों के सामाजिक और नैतिक विकास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं)
• Games (खेल) : Games contribute to the mental, physical, and social development of children. By being in a team, children learn the spirit of cooperation and discipline (खेल बच्चों के मानसिक, शारीरिक, और सामाजिक विकास में योगदान देते हैं। टीम में रहकर बच्चे सहयोग की भावना और अनुशासन सीखते हैं)
