TLM stands for Teaching Learning Materials, which are educational resources that teachers use in the classroom to support learning objectives.

There are three types of materials based on the senses, named as follows (इन्द्रियों के आधार पर पदार्थ तीन प्रकार के होते हैं, जिनके नाम इस प्रकार हैं)

• श्रव्य सहायक सामग्री (Audio Aids)
• दृश्य सामग्री (Visual Material)
• श्रव्य दृश्य सामग्री (Audio Visual Material)

Based on the senses (इंद्रियों के आधार पर)

• Audio Aids (श्रव्य सहायक सामग्री) : This includes materials that enable children to acquire knowledge through listening, such as radio, tape recorder, gramophone, etc (इसमें शामिल हैं ऐसी सामग्री जो बच्चों को सुनकर ज्ञान प्राप्त कराती है, जैसे रेडियो, टेप रिकॉर्डर, ग्रामोफोन, आदि)
• Visual Material (दृश्य सामग्री) : These materials help children gain knowledge by seeing, such as blackboard, bulletin board, map, globe, pictures, cartoons, models, posters, etc (यह सामग्री बच्चों को देखकर ज्ञान प्राप्त कराती है, जैसे श्यामपट्ट, बुलेटिन बोर्ड, मानचित्र, ग्लोब, चित्र, कार्टून, मॉडल, पोस्टर, आदि)
• Audio Visual Material (श्रव्य दृश्य सामग्री) : It contains materials that enable children to acquire knowledge through listening and watching simultaneously, such as mobile phones, television, computers, movies, dramas, etc. (इसमें सामग्री होती है जो बच्चों को एक साथ सुनकर और देखकर ज्ञान प्राप्त कराती है, जैसे मोबाइल फोन, टेलीविजन, कंप्यूटर, चलचित्र, नाटक, आदि)

Based on technology (तकनीक के आधार पर)

• Hardware Approach (कठोर उपागम) : It uses hardware like slide projectors, films, etc. which require machines (इसमें हार्डवेयर का उपयोग होता है जैसे स्लाइड प्रोजेक्टर, फिल्म, आदि जिसके लिए मशीनों की आवश्यकता होती है)
• Software Approach (मधु उपाध्याय) : It uses software and digital tools such as video, audio, graphics, etc (इसमें सॉफ्टवेयर और डिजिटल साधनों का उपयोग होता है जैसे वीडियो, ऑडियो, ग्राफिक्स, आदि)

Basis of dispersion (परिक्षेपण के आधार पर)

• Projectile Material (प्रक्षेपी सामग्री) : which contains material that is presented by means of slide films, pictures, etc (जिसमें ऐसी सामग्री होती है जिसका प्रदर्शन स्लाइड फिल्म, चित्र, आदि के माध्यम से किया जाता है
• Non-projectile Material (अप्रक्षेपी सामग्री) : Contains materials that can be displayed without machines, such as blackboards, charts, books, etc (जिसमें ऐसी सामग्री होती है जिसका प्रदर्शन मशीनों के बिना किया जा सकता है, जैसे श्यामपट्ट, चार्ट, पुस्तक, आदि)

According to NCERT (NCERT के अनुसार)

• Graphic Picture (ग्राफिक चित्र) : Like comics and cartoons (जैसे कॉमिक्स और कार्टून)
• Display Material (डिस्प्ले सामग्री) : Like blackboard and bulletin board (जैसे ब्लैक बोर्ड और बुलिटिन बोर्ड)
• Three-dimensional Material (त्रिआयामी सामग्री) : Models such as (जैसे मॉडल)
• Audio Material (श्रव्य सामग्री) : Like a radio tape recorder (जैसे रेडियो टेप रिकॉर्डर)
• Projectile Material (प्रक्षेपी सामग्री) : Such as slide film (जैसे स्लाइड फिल्म)
• Process Materials (प्रक्रिया सामग्री) : Such as acting and field trips (जैसे अभिनय और क्षेत्र भ्रमण)
