   The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced the recruitment of 4500 Assistant Teachers for Lower and Upper Primary Schools across Assam. Eligible candidates who are Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam, possessing Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) qualifications, can apply online.

• Total Vacancies : 4500  
  • Lower Primary (LP) : 2900 posts  
  • Upper Primary (UP) : 1600 posts  
• Department : Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam  
• Pay Scale : Pay Band - 2 (PB-2) Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as per "The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019".

Nationality :  Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam.  

Age Limit (as of 1st January 2025) :  

• Minimum Age : 18 years  
• Maximum Age : 40 years  

Age Relaxation :  

• Ex-Servicemen : 2 years  
• OBC/MOBC : 3 years  
• SC/ST(P)/ST(H) : 5 years  
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD) : 10 years

Medium of Instruction :  The candidate's Language-I or Language-II in ATET/CTET must match the medium of instruction of the school they are applying to.  

Assistant Teacher (Lower Primary - LP)  

• Higher Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks  
• 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education  
• Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary Schools  

Assistant Teacher (Upper Primary - UP)  

• Graduate from a UGC-recognized University  
• 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) OR Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)  
• Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary Schools  

Science Teacher (UP)  

• B.Sc. from a UGC-recognized University  
• 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education OR B.Ed. OR B.El.Ed.  
• Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary Schools  

Hindi Teacher (UP)  

• Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from a UGC-recognized University  
• 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education OR B.Ed. OR B.El.Ed.  
• Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary Schools

Eligible candidates can apply online through the DEE Assam Recruitment Portal by following these steps:  

• Visit the official recruitment portal.  
• Click on "Online Application Form" and register.  
• Fill in personal and educational details.  
• Upload necessary documents.  
• Submit the application form.  
• Upon submission, candidates will receive a Unique Number for reference.  

Note : Candidates can submit only one application per ATET/CTET Roll Number.
