Educational Qualifications for SSC CGL Recruitment 2024

Junior Statistical Officer

• Essential Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.

 

Statistical Investigator Grade-II

• Essential Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. 
  • The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all three years or all six semesters of the graduation course.

 

Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)

• Essential Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
• Desirable Qualification
  
  • Minimum one-year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution;
  • Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.

All Other Posts

• Essential Qualification
  
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

• Candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply, but they must possess the essential qualification on or before 01-08-2024.

Scheme of SSC CGL Examination

Examination Tiers:

1. Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
2. Tier-II: Computer Based Examination

Normalization of Scores

• Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized.
• The normalization will be done using a formula published by the Commission.
• There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the scores at any stage or tier of the examination.

 

Scheme of Tier-I Examination for SSC CGL 2024

Exam Details

• Type of Questions: Objective Type, Multiple Choice questions.
• Language: Questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Comprehension.
• Negative Marking: 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Duration of Exam:
  • General candidates: 1 hour
  • Candidates eligible for scribe: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Normalization of Marks

• Purpose: Normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
• Formula: Normalization will be done using the formula published by the Commission in Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019.

Exam Details

• Conduct of Papers: Paper-I and Paper-II will be conducted in separate shifts/days.

Paper - I

• Compulsory for: All the posts.

Paper - II

• Applicable for:
  • Candidates applying for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
  • Candidates applying for the posts of Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (Ministry of Home Affairs).
  • Only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these posts.
