   The State Council of Educational Research and Training (S.C.E.R.T.), Assam, has announced the recruitment of 159 Lecturer posts in District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs). The Assam Public Service Commission will conduct this recruitment drive. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply online.

Lecturer, PSTE (Pre-Service Teacher Education) - 55 Posts

• Language: 11 posts

Essential Qualifications (Post = English : 6)

• Master's Degree: The candidate must hold a Master’s degree in one of the following areas with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university (a) English, (b) English Language Teaching (ELT)

• M.Ed.: The candidate must have a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.: The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or possess a Ph.D. from any recognized university.

Essential Qualifications (Post = Assamese : 5)

• Master's Degree: The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Assamese with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• M.Ed.: The candidate must hold a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.: The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or hold a Ph.D. from any recognized university.

Essential Qualifications (Post = Mathematics : 8 posts)

• Master's Degree : The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• M.Ed. : The candidate must hold a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D. : The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or hold a Ph.D. from any recognized university.

Essential Qualifications (Post = Science: 8 posts)

• Master's Degree in Science Subjects : The candidate must have a Master's degree in one of the following subjects with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Botany
  • Zoology
  • Life Science
  • Bio Science

• M.Ed. (Master of Education) : A candidate must possess an M.Ed. degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D. : The candidate must have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or hold a Ph.D. from a recognized university.

• Documentation Requirement : Candidates need to upload all relevant mark sheets for each semester or year, showing the subjects studied and the final pass certificate.

Essential Qualifications (Post = Social Science: 12 posts)

• Master's Degree in Social Science Subjects: The candidate must have a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university in one of the following subjects:

  • Geography
  • History
  • Political Science
  • Economics
  • Sociology

• M.Ed. (Master of Education): The candidate must hold an M.Ed. degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.: The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or possess a Ph.D. from a recognized university.

Essential Qualifications (Post = Physical Education: 5 posts)

• Master's Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.): The candidate must have a Master's degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.: The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field from a recognized university.

Essential Qualifications (Post = Foundation of Education: 7 posts)

Option A

• Master's Degree

  • The candidate must have a Master’s degree in one of the following areas with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university:
    • Science
    • Humanities
    • Social Science (preferably in Psychology, Sociology, or Economics)

• M.Ed.

  • The candidate must hold a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a minimum of 55% or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.

  • The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or possess a Ph.D. from any recognized university.

Option B

• M.A. in Education

  • The candidate must have a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• B.Ed.

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.

  • The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or possess a Ph.D. from any recognized university.

Essential Qualifications (Art Education: 4 posts)

• Post Graduate Degree in Fine Arts/Visual Art: The candidate must have a Post Graduate degree in Fine Arts (MFA) or Visual Art (MVA) with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.

• NET/SLET/Ph.D.: The candidate should have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or hold a Ph.D. from any recognized university.

Lecturer, IFIC (In-service Field Interaction, Innovation, and Coordination) - 16 Posts

Essential Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Humanities/Social Science/Science: The candidate must have a Master's degree in any of the following fields with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university:

Eligibility Criteria of SCERT Assam Recruitment

• Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

• Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 and 38 years of age as of 01/01/2024. Age relaxation is applicable as follows:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years

• Educational Qualification: Please refer to the official notification for specific educational qualifications for each post.

• Residentship: Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam. A PRC issued in Assam for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration certificate must be provided as proof.
