     Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has announced the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2025 for admission into Class VI for the academic session 2025-2026. Eligible students who wish to join Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Assam need to appear for this entrance examination.

     In line with the National Policy of Education (1986), the Government of India established Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). These co-educational residential schools, now spread across 27 States and 8 Union Territories, are fully funded and managed by the Government of India through the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Benefits for Students of JNV Admission 2025

Students admitted to JNVs enjoy several benefits, including:

• Instruction in the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII, followed by English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science.
• Board examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
• Free education, including board & lodging, uniform, and textbooks. However, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected from students of Classes IX to XII for Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi, with exemptions for SC/ST categories, girl students, and students from BPL families.

Eligibility Criteria of JNV Admission 2025

• Residence : Candidates must apply in the district where they are studying Class V and must be bonafide residents of that district.
• Age Limit : Candidates must be born between 1st May 2013 and 31st July 2015 (inclusive).
• Educational Qualification : Candidates must be studying in Class V during the academic session 2023-24 in a recognized school in the district of application.
• Attempt Limit : Only one attempt per candidate.
• Rural Quota : At least 75% of seats in a district are reserved for candidates from rural areas. Candidates must have completed Classes III, IV, and V in rural schools in the district of application.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test  Details

     The JNV Selection Test will be held on 18th April 2025 from 11:30 AM to 01:30 PM, consisting of 80 objective questions for 100 marks.

Admit Cards of JNV Admission 2025

    Admit cards will be available on the application portal as per the schedule announced by NVS. Candidates can download them free of cost before the exam.

Result Announcement of JNV Admission 2025

Results will be declared by March 2025 for summer-bound JNVs and by May 2025 for winter-bound JNVs. Results will be available on the NVS website and through other local offices. Provisionally selected candidates will be informed via SMS and speed post. The admission process for the 2025-26 session will conclude by 31st December 2025.
